New Generation Ford Mustang 2012

Ford Mustang brought last year and was one of the best success stories this year. One of the most positive aspects of travel is that although there are some very expensive models are used to horses from whole muscle car, the base model is surprisingly affordable and still a lot of fun in its own right.

The big news for the 2012 Ford Mustang is the revival of the storied high-performance Boss 302 model. Also notable is the introduction of adjustable effort settings for the power steering effort on GT models.

After numerous improvements to the Mustang lineup last year, we wouldn't have been surprised this year to see Ford's engineers just sit back and watch their winning horse run circles around its competition. As it turns out, though, they've been busily creating yet another highly desirable model to join the stable.

For 2012, Ford reintroduces the Mustang Boss 302, a nameplate that recalls the Boss 302 of 1969. Just as before, the new Boss 302 is a track-tuned beast, and it should also be both great to drive and even potentially collectible. Numerous engine enhancements kick output up to 444 horsepower, and the Boss receives a host of other hardware upgrades to handle the extra fury under the hood.

The 2012 Ford Mustang is available as a coupe or convertible and is offered in five trim levels: V6, V6 Premium, GT, GT Premium and Boss 302. (The Shelby GT500 is reviewed separately.)

The base V6 starts with 17-inch alloy wheels, a limited-slip rear differential, keyless entry, integrated blind-spot mirrors, cruise control, air-conditioning, full power accessories, a tilt-only steering wheel and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player and auxiliary audio jack.

The V6 Premium adds upgraded 17-inch wheels, leather upholstery, a power driver seat, Ford's Sync system, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, color-adjustable gauges, ambient lighting, upgraded interior trim and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system with satellite radio and an iPod/USB audio interface. The V8-powered GT comes with the base V6's features plus 18-inch alloys, automatic headlights, a rear spoiler, adjustable steering effort and foglamps. The GT Premium is essentially a GT with different 18-inch wheels and the V6 Premium's roster of features.

Options on Mustang V6 models include an exterior appearance package that adds bodywork graphics and a rear spoiler. Bundled with the optional rear parking sensors are an anti-theft system and wheel locks. Also available is a V6 Performance package (for coupes with manual transmissions) that includes 19-inch wheels with summer tires, numerous suspension and brake upgrades, a recalibrated stability control system and a 3.31 rear axle ratio.

The V6 Premium unlocks a slew of packages and options in addition to those available on the base model. These include: the Pony package and the Mustang Club of America Special Edition (both consist of 18-inch wheels and various exterior styling enhancements); the Comfort Group package (a power passenger seat and heated front seats); and the Electronics package (automatic climate control, HD radio and a voice-activated navigation system with real-time traffic and other information). Also available are remote ignition, xenon headlamps, a glass roof, a tonneau cover for convertible models and a back-up camera.

The Mustang GT can be outfitted with upgraded Brembo brakes, 19-inch wheels, summer tires and the recalibrated stability control system. Two performance axles for quicker acceleration are available: 3.55:1 and 3.73:1. The GT Premium can be had with all the options of the V6 Premium and GT packages plus a selection from an array of 18-inch and 19-inch wheels, the California Special package (more exterior styling variations) and a more powerful 10-speaker sound system (not available with the Electronics package).

The new high-performance Boss 302 is only available as a coupe and adds a more powerful V8 engine, 19-inch wheels, quad exhaust tips, special exterior trim and aerodynamic elements, a 3.73:1 rear-axle ratio, Brembo brakes, adjustable shock absorbers, unique interior trim, a suede-wrapped steering wheel, alloy pedals, cloth seats and the base audio system. Recaro front seats (from the GT500) and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential are optional.

The limited-edition Boss 302 Laguna Seca model goes even further with track-ready aerodynamic enhancements, race-compound tires, a stiffer suspension, unique gauges and standardization of the Recaro seats and Torsen differential, plus the deletion of the rear seat.

The 2012 Ford Mustang V6 powered by a 3.7-liter engine that produces 305 hp and 280 pound-feet of torque. Mustang GT steps up to 5.0-liter V8 good for 412 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Both have six-speed manual transmission standard, while a six-speed automatic is optional. As if this was not enough, 5.0-liter V8 302 Boss up power output 444 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. (An automatic transmission is available for 302 Boss, however.)

Mustang V6 coupe getting the EPA estimated fuel economy is 19 mpg city/31 mpg highway and 23 mpg in combined driving with automatic transmission, while the manually estimated 19/29/22 mpg. GT is rated 18/25/21 mpg with the automatic, and 17/26/20 mpg with the manual. Opting for the rear differential gear ratio is a more aggressive would further drop in fuel economy.

In recent testing, the Mustang V6 is loaded with performance package and the gear ratio of 3.31 is accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. A V8 Mustang with a 3.73 gear is managed the same run in just 4.8 seconds.

Standard safety features for all 2012 Ford Mustang includes antilock brakes, front seat side airbags, side mirrors reconnaissance and stability control. Ford's MyKey system is also standard, which allows owners to limit speed and audio volume level for young drivers.

In brake testing, the V6 and V8 Mustangs turned in impressive stopping distance. V6 stops from 60 mph in just 103 meters away, while the V8 is needed only 109. It is important to note, however, that both vehicles benefit from the optional performance package.

Regardless of which 2012 Ford Mustang you choose, you're in for a wild ride. The base V6 makes more than enough power for the average driver and plenty of oomph to satisfy a majority of driving enthusiasts as well. The V8 engines take performance up a few notches with gobs of torque and a glorious exhaust note. Driving enthusiasts will naturally want to select the manual transmission, though the automatic isn't a bad choice; it's prone to early upshifts in order to maximize fuel economy, but there's enough torque to keep the Mustang ably motivated.

New Generation Ford Focus 2012

Forget fun to drive. Bumper cars are fun to drive. The 2012 Focus has an intense side that comes out when you push the start button. It comes with an all-new chassis and suspension that's tighter and better than ever, and a new cornering assist system that puts the torque where the traction is. We took some very sweet performance technology and put it at your finger tips. Available spring 2011.

One of Alan Mulally’s objectives since becoming CEO at Ford in 2006 has been to develop products on a worldwide basis. This sounds familiar, if only because another Ford CEO, Alex Trotman, did the same thing back in the 1990s. This approach resulted in products such as the Contour (not a rip-roaring success) and the original Focus (which was).

For 2012, the Focus offers crisp handling thanks to a rear stabilizer bar and our fully-independent control blade rear suspension that stubbornly resist body roll. The available Titanium Handling Package is taut and confidence inspiring -- it adds a unique sport-tuned suspension with 18" wheels and low profile summer-only tires. You’ll look forward to a ride you'll love every day.

In between the Focus going on sale in the U.S. as a 2000 model and Mulally  taking over, product development in Europe and North America took off in different directions. Hence, Europe was rewarded with a heavily reworked second-generation Focus in 2004. The next year, North America got a warmed-over version of the first-gen Focus sedan and hatchback.

Starting in early 2011, the Focus in both North America and Europe will be the same vehicle. This is to be applauded because there was a big gap between the European Focus and the machine sold here. The European car improved on the basic goodness of the original, with better interior quality and driving dynamics. The U.S. car essentially stayed put: The original Focus was good enough to be a C/D 10Best winner, but the competition moved on, leaving the current version dead last in a recent small-car comparo.

The 2012 Focus certainly looks terrific, especially in five-door form. The engineers and designers felt able to make the Focus sportier (by lowering its seating position and overall height) due to the upcoming C-Max—a tall-roof, five- or seven-seat derivative off this platform—that fulfills the family-car mission. Compared with the current U.S. Focus, the new car is 0.5 inch lower (at 58.1 inches tall) and 3.0 inches longer (178.0 inches overall), and it has a 1.3-inch-longer wheelbase (104.2 inches). The 2012 model’s dimensions are close to the current Euro car’s, save for a wider track and lower stance.

A new body in white employs high-strength steel for 55 percent of the structure, the highest of any U.S. Ford. Torsional rigidity is up by 25 percent over that of the current Focus. Under the skin, the layout of the strut front and multilink rear suspension stands pat, but many pieces are revised. According to Gunnar Herrmann, the vehicle line director for global C-segment: “The carry-over on the platform is effectively only seven percent. We have changed almost everything.”

At launch, the Focus will get a new 2.0-liter, direct-injection four-cylinder that has variable intake- and exhaust-valve timing. Ford says the engine will put out 155 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. Later on, expect a sportier engine. Jim Hughes, the chief nameplate engineer for the Focus in North America, adds, “We’ll eventually get an EcoBoost [turbocharged DI] engine in the Focus.” We’re thinking a 1.6-liter making more than 200 horsepower in a sporty ST model.

The Focus will go on sale with two available transmissions: a base six-speed manual and a very fancy six-speed dual-clutch gearbox co-developed with Getrag. Derrick Kuzak, the global product-development chief, says: “There will be no conventional automatic on this car.” Electric power steering is a new feature, along with “torque vectoring,” which, similar to the systems of many other automakers, uses the anti-lock brakes to approximate a limited-slip differential.

The interior looks like a winner, but there’s a caveat: The styling mockup we examined had hard surfaces, even if Ford assures us everything will be soft-touch in the production version. The mockup had cool piano-black and aluminum finishes and a stitched dashboard. This upscale trim is called “Titanium” in Europe, and it’s hard to imagine that the base U.S. model, which should still retail around the current car’s $16,690 price, will look as stylish.

With options such as a rearview camera, a blind-spot warning system, keyless ignition, a nav system with an eight-inch screen, and an upgraded version of the Sync infotainment system (dubbed MyFord), we can see a Focus stickering well into the $20,000s. Hughes clarifies: “Although we’re trying to maintain the base price, we think there will be pull from people coming down from C/D-segment cars [think Honda Accord, Ford Fusion] to C-class cars—people are downsizing vehicles but not their expectations.”

That’s a prevailing view at Ford these days. But it’s also one fraught with difficulty. People will pay $18,000 or more for a Mazda 3 or a VW Golf or a Honda Civic, but that’s because those cars carry so much brand equity. The average transaction price of a Toyota Corolla is less, and a Focus’s is way lower. No matter how good the car is—and Mark Fields, president of Ford of the Americas, says, “We won’t dumb this one down for the U.S.”—will American consumers pay more money for this latest Focus? If a domestic small car has a chance at challenging the Mazda 3 and the Golf, it’s this one.

Top 5 List 2011 Most Fuel Efficients Cars

At the summer of 2008 in U.S, gas prices average around $4.50/gallon in the U.S. After the summer of 2008, gas prices plummeted down to $2.00/gallon and people were beginning to enjoy going out more. However, as of April 2011, the price is already $4.00/gallon and it is predicted that it will reach over $5.00/gallon within the next year or so.

The best ways to save money is not drive at all and just stay home, sit in front of your computer all day long! Most of us can't do that because we must drive to work and we live in a society where driving is a necessity. How many miles are you getting from a gallon of gas? There will be no expensive cars in this post and none of the cars here will reach 0-60 in 5 secs, but these cars will save you money on gas every year. Let's see the list...

1. Toyota Prius: 51 City/48 Hwy (50 Combined), Base Price: $23,050. 1.8-liter, with 4-Cylinder engine and 134 hp, 0-60 mph in 9.8 secs. The most fuel efficient car on the market is the Toyota Prius, also the most demanding car in the U.S. A small sedan, but roomy enough for 5 and it is perfect for those that drive over 100 miles a day to work. The 3rd Generation Toyota Prius model is on sale since 2009 and currently available for purchase at most Toyota dealers.

2. Lexus CT 200h: 43 City/40 Hwy (42 Combined), Base Price: $29,120. 1.8-liter, with 4-Cylinder engine and up to 134 hp, 0-60 mph in 9.8 secs. Why not have both luxury and fuel efficiency in one car? The Lexus CT 200h does just that by offering great gas mileage with a luxurious feel. Wow your friends and colleagues with a whopping 42 mpg in a Lexus.

3. Honda Civic Hybrid vs Honda Insight: Tie for third are the Honda cars, which both give an estimated combined 41 mpg. The Civic Hybrid has more room and cargo space, while the Insight is much more affordable.

Honda Civic Hybrid: 40 City/43 Hwy (41 Combined), Base Price: $23,950. 1.3-liter, 4-Cylinder engine with 110 hp, 0-60 mph in 11.3 secs.

Honda Insight: 40 City/43 Hwy (41 Combined), Base Price: $18,200. 1.3-liter, 4-Cylinder engine with 98 hp.

4. Ford Fusion Hybrid in the fourth spot are two contenders from Ford Motors with each having a combined 39 mpg. These hybrids are packed with a powerful engine which give out 191 hp. The Fusion Hybrid is more affordable. Ford Fusion Hybrid: 41 City/36 Hwy (39 Combined), Base Price: $28,405. 2.5-liter, 4-Cylinder engine with 191 hp. 0-60 mph in 8.4 secs.

5. Honda CR-Z or Hyundai Sonata Hybrid: Ranking in fifth place is a duel between the H companies; CR-Z and the Sonata Hybrid each has a estimated combined 37 mpg. Honda offers a sporty coupe at a comfortable price range while Hyundai offers a full sedan with great gas mileage.

Honda CR-Z: 35 City/39 Hwy (37 Combined), Base price: $19,345. 1.5-liter, 4-Cylinder engine with 122 hp. 0-60 mph in 9.7 secs.

What do you think of this list? If there are better fuel efficient cars available on the market, please list those cars and link to them. We only list cars that are currently available for purchase and has already been on the market. Concept cars that have not been release cannot be on the list because it is not yet available for purchase. Your comment is very valuable and it will help us keep the list accurate.

New Ford Fiesta 2011 " Good Car Performance "

Ford Fiesta 2011 is a 4-door, 5 passenger family sedan or wagon, available in 5 trims, ranging from the Sedan S Hatchback SES. Upon introduction, both motifs are equipped with a standard 119-horsepower 1.6-liter, I4, which achieves 28 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional.

Fiesta gets the most out of every corner, thanks to the technical precision only a Ford-tuned suspension can offer. Taking on straightaways is a smooth affair, too, when you combine electric power-assisted steering with the proprietary Ford invention, active nibble control. Covert aerodynamic design and critical technology such as the class-exclusive PowerShift six-speed automatic and 1.6L Ti-VCT Duratec® I4 engine with twin-independent variable cam timing make it a responsive and fuel-responsible driving experience.

Rapid-fire shifting is enhanced by a powertrain control module making real-time adjustments, producing efficient mobility. Fiesta also boasts many aerodynamic design characteristics that help minimize air resistance and increase fuel efficiency, such as the aero-shaped body-mounted mirrors and the line cut into the rear taillamps. The optional Super Fuel Economy Package offers additional aerodynamic details such as underbody shields and blockers on the lower grille.

Fiesta is designed to amplify the anticipation of the drive and physically engage your senses. Thoughtful design cues like the class-exclusive* 4" multifunctional LCD display screen and cell phone-inspired center console with cascading buttons are pleasing to the eyes and the touch. The safety advancements in the 2011 Fiesta give you the peace of mind to enjoy the quick and nimble performance that makes Fiesta so much fun to drive. Fiesta provides seven standard air bags-more standard airbags than any other compact cars in its class*- and includes side curtain airbags. There’s even an airbag at the driver’s knees. And here’s another way Fiesta raises the bar on safety: a protective “safety cage” made of boron - an element so strong it’s used in the aerospace industry- surrounds both driver and passengers.

Fiesta has no qualms about standing out, starting at the front end with a three-bar grille and distinctive dragon’s-eye headlamps. A razor-slash side panel highlights the car’s cut-and-run stance, while the upswept rear end makes it look like it’s ready to launch. Available ambient lighting and available bright metallic accents create a radiant glow that surrounds the interior, and unique exterior colors emphasize Fiesta’s effervescent personality bubbling to the surface.

Ford has presented, before the opening of the Detroit Motor Show, the first information and pictures of the new generation Focus, a model that, this time, will be the same in both the U.S. and Europe. The new Focus is Ford's first global product developed by
Ford's ONE strategy. Starting from Germany, this model will be sold in over 120 countries, including Indonesia.

Ford Focus 5-door hatchback, featuring a sporty, 4-door sedan that is elegant, and station wagon 5-spintu style. Focus beramunisi several technologies including Low Speed Safety System, Active Park Assist, Lane Keeping Aid and vectoring Torque Control.

Ford Focus will fill the market with diesel and gasoline engines. The range of gasoline engines: 1.6-liter EcoBoost with a choice of 150 hp and 180 hp, and 1.6-liter Duratec Ti-VCT-powered 105 hp and 125 hp. While the choice of Focus TDCi Duratorq diesel engine, 1.6 liters (95 hp and 115 hp) and 2.0 liter (115 hp, 140 hp and 163 hp).

The focus of the first generation born in 1998. The focus of the population has exceeded 10 million units. And, the latest generation Focus is a global car developed in Europe. Focus will be sold in over 120 countries.

The focus will be the basis for 10 Ford cars and ready to reach production of 2 million per year from 2012. 80% of its components have in common. Focus into the production line in 2010's and early 2011 began to be marketed.

Ford presented the first official pictures of the new generation Ford Focus 2011, will have world premieres during the day, at the Auto Show in Detroit. Unlike the previous generation, the new Focus is a global model, plan to have the same shape in the U.S. and Europe, which is also why this model is presented to a car show in the original state. In addition, Ford has chosen - for this reason - for the moment, in the same time, both hatchback and sedan versions of the new model, the U.S. market which used to prefer a version of the usual four-door Focus hatchback than that present on the streets of Europe.

Aesthetically speaking, a new focus very clearly highlights a new line of models from the Blue Oval, being practically a larger version of the Fiesta subcompact model. The focus is purely European design, the car is being developed at a design center in Germany that has the Michigan brand. The dimensions remain the same for both sedan and hatchback, the dimensions of the chassis and suspension hardware are also borrowed from the older generation, with the necessary repairs.

The focus of the new generation will be done in parallel at the Ford plant in Saarlouis (Germany), Michigan (USA) and Chongqing (China), following which, later, production sites in Spain and Russia to enter the game, too. New focus will go on sale in 2011.

Under the hood lies sadly no more but a 2.0 liter five-cylinder EcoBoost engine, four cylinders and a turbocharger to make it 250 thoroughbreds. The performance will not suffer, really bad news, we can not mention. The Ford Focus ST will not only be a European place, including the U.S. and the rest of the world will enjoy it.
